What could be better than a trip to a local orchard for farm-fresh apples? Many farms have a market and bakery selling chilled gallons of freshly pressed cider, mugs of steaming mulled cider, and trays of freshly baked goods. Wooden shelves and bins overflow with apples topped by hand-lettered signs listing prices by the bushel, half-bushel and peck.
Cider days are at the heart of the fall. Whether it’s from a farm market or your local grocery store, you can take the orchard home with apple cider in your kitchen.
