Chimichurri is a herb-based sauce made with fresh chopped herbs, garlic, lemon juice or vinegar, and extra virgin olive oil. It’s bursting with spicy, sharp, and citrusy flavors.

It’s excellent on grilled meats, but can also be used as a salad dressing, sandwich spread, and even a dip for crudites. I know it will be your new favorite all-purpose summer condiment.

Best Life Living Tip

Know your worth.

This week, I had an unfortunate conversation with a hospitality company that wanted me to teach cooking classes at a radically reduced rate with the explanation, “We don’t normally pay for speakers.”

My instant reply was, “Well, this will not be a good fit.”

Banks don’t take exposure as a mortgage payment. If you have precedence for a fee, you know your worth.

“Know your worth” is an expression encouraging self-awareness and valuing oneself, including one’s skills, talents, and personal qualities. It emphasizes understanding your value and not allowing others to diminish or devalue you

Knowing your worth is about embracing your authenticity, setting healthy boundaries, and pursuing your goals with confidence.

You can do it!

Self-Care Strategy

It’s taken a long time for me to rein in my internalized homophobia.  I don’t know if I will ever be 100% done with it, but I am working on it.

My self-care strategy is to constantly work that I have nothing to be ashamed of, God made me who I am, and I am loved. It’s pretty darn hard growing up in the South with so many right-wing Christians proclaiming I am going to hell. And, the conservative culture war makes it worse.

The religious bigots who question my salvation should worry about their own. How dare they presume to know the mind of God?

Pride is the opposite of shame. Shame is wanting to hide. It’s feeling “less than” and makes you contract. Pride is being immensely satisfied with something and wanting to show it off. Pride is expansive. It grows outward in our actions, thoughts, and imaginations. I am proud to be me!
